Mindful Book Club - August (Local)
this is the club option for locals who can meet in-person (Fairfield County). join us virtually, here.
please join us for the next mindful book club, launching august 1st! we will be reading Do Nothing, How to Break Away from Overworking, and Overdoing and Underliving by Celeste Headlee. here’s what it is all about:
“Essentially, we are working our way out of happiness and well-being. We’ve lost the balance between striving to improve and feeling gratitude for what we have. We’ve lost touch with the things that really enrich our lives and make us feel content.
I’d like to inspire a new consideration of leisure and new appreciation of idleness…slowing down and milking life for all it’s worth….It’s what humans were meant to enjoy and what we need in order to function at our highest levels.”
the mindful book club is way more than just reading a book together! here’s how it works:
we'll read (or listen to) the chosen book - i'll break it into pieces so it's not too much!
you'll receive a bi-weekly email with suggested chapters, thoughtful questions to help you digest the info + mindful reading tips
i'll give you practices to focus on to turn the words into action
i'll facilitate an online community for frequent discussion, group coaching + accountability
i have added more in-person connection! we will meet at the beginning, middle and end to discuss and reflect on the book, activities and more. A scheduling doodle will be sent out to the final group at kick-off to determine the final meet-ups and timing.
kick-off Zoom, (8/1)
midway meet-up: walk and talk (around 8/29)
end-of-book discussion: al fresco dinner by the water (around 10/1)
the club runs for 8 weeks.
note: please add 1 to your cart and check out via the shopping cart icon on the lower right side!
